Here is a really cool new way to ask for prayer and to pray for others!  This website offers a graph updated live where you can see the prayer requests and how many people have prayed for each request.  You can ask for prayer with your name or anonymously (we like to call it "Theononymous", :D)  And if you choose to sign up, the list of prayers will be sent to you each Thursday.  The people that created this site call themselves "Theonauts".  The "Theo" is for theology...and I think the "nauts" refers to astronauts or something, lol!  Anyways, they have a hilarious and informative weekly podcast that talks about hot button topics with Christianity and news around the globe.  Now that you have a little background about the makes of this prayer website, lets get into the prayer details!

Theonauts

From their own website:prayer.theonautspodcast.com/
David and Jeremiah are big proponents for Christians to be honest, open, and transparent with their sins to each other.  The New Testament calls us to confess our faults to each other and to pray for one another.  This is easier said than done.  Our reputations, egos, and pride get in the way.  Christians end up hiding their sins from each other to look better.  The thing is… we all sin.  The difference between Christians and non-Christians is that the Christian’s sins are covered by the blood of Jesus.  We are ashamed of our sin because we want to be like him.  But we are still subject to that pesky “law of the flesh” Paul talks about in Romans 7 and that tends to keep dragging us down.  We need each other in this fight.  When we hide our sins we rob ourselves of resources God has provided us.

And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up – and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.   So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.
(James 5:15-16 NET_FL)

So since we have this new media at our disposal, why not use it to help bring Christians together in confession, prayer, and fasting?  This is not an end all solution, but a means to help start us back on a path of prayer and confession.  So here is how it works:

Submit Prayer Requests:  This site allows you to submit a prayer request.  You can provide your name and email in the request.  You can also choose to not have those exposed by remaining completely anonymous.  It’s your choice.  This way if your confession is too personal you can have people praying for you without their actual knowledge of who you are.  If you’re in between wanting to be completely anonymous and fully disclosed, we’d suggest using just a first name or even creating a name.  We’ll just call that being theononymous.  :)  You will receive an email from us with a link that will let you manage your request, mark it answered, reply with a praise report, or delete the request.  You may also choose an option that will send subsequent emails to you to let you know when people pray for you.

View Prayer Requests:  All submitted prayer requests will then show up in a list on the Current Prayer Requests page.  From here you can pray for others who have made these requests.  If you pray for some one, please click on the button that says “I prayed for you”.  This will alert the requestor that someone is praying for them.  If the prayer request seems bogus or the product of some troll, you can also click on the “Report Abuse” button.  If a request receives 3 reports of abuse it is removed.

Sign up as a Theothursday Prayer Warrior:  If this really hits your heart like it has ours, you can sign up as a Theothursdays Prayer Warrior.  This means, if you want to be notified when people need prayers we will send you a prayer newsletter each Thursday with the weeks prayer requests. NOTE: This is unrelated to the info posted on the Submit a Prayer Request page. You can be a subscriber to the newsletter and still be completely anonymous when submitting prayer requests.  Our suggestion is to couple your prayers with a fast.  So from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Thursdays you dedicate yourself to a “normal” fast (abstaining from all foods but drinking water) and prayer for your brothers and sisters mentioned in the Theothursday newsletter.  Then we suggest visiting the site to click on those “I prayed for you” buttons to encourage the requestors.

Tell People:  Tell your friends to use this tool.  The more confessions and the more prayers the better this will work.  Or better yet, just confess to your friends and pray with them right there on the spot!  Ok, not ready for that one yet?  Then never mind, just start them out with Theononymous.  :)

So there you have it!  If you would like to pray for others, or if you want more people praying for you, feel free to participate in this website. You can be totally anonymous if you want to.  The more prayer the better, right?  Thank you Prayer Warriors for praying!!!  :pray::pray:
