This is a portrait of John Cooper from the band Skillet, and he is in the cooking utensil that bears the name. It's fun to paint on abnormal surfaces.
I love it! I like the expression on John's face too. Gonna do one for all the band members? ...~_^ Those would be interesting conversation starters though! I take it the skillet is no longer used for cooking?

LOL! Nope, this skillet isn't used for cooking anymore. But the reason it's sooo cool is that I found it at a store in old town and it still had burnt food on it! So I painted over the baked-on food, lol! I have a mini skillet that is about 3 or 4 inches across, I was thinking about painting Alex on it.
Um, thanks? lol! You should try painting on strange surfaces. I think that it makes things look cooler than they really are. This painting would suck if it was on canvas, but the cast iron skillet makes it look better.
I'm not saying that all my canvas paintins suck, just that this particular one would. There isn't much detail and it's small, it would be pretty boring on a flat canvas I think.
